40th Annual NAACP Image Awards






























NAACP celebrates their 100th birthday this year. A milestone not only for NAACP but for people of color. NAACP is the oldest civil rights organization in United States. This year celebration was hosted by Tyler Perry and Halle Berry, performers included Beyonce', Jennifer Hudson, Seal, Stevie Wonder and Def Poets. Today, NAACP kicks off their year-long centennial celebration. Honorees include former Vice President Al Gore and Dr. Wangari Muta Maathai, who both received the Chairman’s Award. Great Muhammad Ali received the President's Awards. Russell Simmons was honored with Vanguard Award. Other winners included Beyonce, Sean Combs, Rosario Dawson, Hill Harper, Will Smith, Keisha Knight Pullman, Lance Gross, Tracey Ellis Ross, Will I.Am, Jennifer Hudson, and The Cast of the View.
