Where You Gone Be All Star Weekend




Here's a list of all the parties and events going on Allstar Weekend. Phoenix is the place to be.

Feb. 12:
Baby Bash

See Baby Bash, famous for hits like Cyclone and What Is It, perform with Nina Sky as part of NBA All-Star week hosted by Power 98, KKFR-FM (98.3). Night is hosted by Joey Boy and Lady La. Age 21 and older only. VIP tickets include immediate entry. Tables for six or more may be reserved for $200. Tickets must be picked up by 6 p.m. on the day of event.

Feb. 12-15:
944 All-Star Weekend

Celebrate the All-Star game with some All-Star athletes and celebrities. 944 is hosting an All-Star Weekend equipped with poolside concerts, celebrities, All-Star athletes and parties. NBA front runners Dwyane Wade and Amaré Stoudemire are among the hosts, along with a performance by two-time Grammy Award winner Common.

Feb. 12-15:
NBA All-Star Block Party

The four-day celebration for the NBA All-Star game will feature a variety of events, including appearances by NBA players and legends, live musical performances, food areas, basketball-themed activities and competitions and an NBA Store featuring authentic NBA All-Star 2009 merchandise. Two Matrix Toyota vehicles will be on-site featuring PS3 gaming systems where fans can play EA Sports NBA Live 09. Beer will be sold within designated spaces to guests who are at least 21 years old.

Feb. 12-16:
NBA All-Star Jam Session

The NBA All-Star Jam Session gives fans the opportunity to meet their favorite players, get autographs, purchase merchandise and be a part of the All-Star Weekend action. See the Web site for volunteer opportunities.



Feb. 12:
Phoenix All-Stars Comedy Show
Orpheum Theatre
203 W. Adams St., Phoenix
$25 - $35
The comedy show features actor and comedian Joe Torry, A.G White and comedienne B-Phlat. Hear music by DJ Mr. B and Neal C. An after-party is held at Club PHX and a discount on admission to the after-party is given with the comedy show ticket stub. Hosted by local comedian Kyle.

Feb. 12-14:
The Derrty Takeover All-Star 2009
Venue of Scottsdale
7117 E. Third Ave., Scottsdale
Prices vary
Nelly hosts a three-day NBA All-Star weekend party. Anyone in before 10 p.m will be entered into a raffle for a VIP upgrade to sit at Nelly's table. An Applebottom Jeans contest held on stage will provide the winner with a cash prize and a VIP upgrade to sit at Nelly's table. Ticket prices vary; call for details.

Feb. 12:
The LeBron James and Allen Iverson All Star Weekend Tip-Off Party

$100 for VIP;$50 for general admission
Celebrate the All-Star weekend with athlete celebrities and dance to the mixes of celebrity DJs LS1 and Mark Da Spot.

See Young Jeezy, whose single Put On has been heard all over the Valley's hip-hop stations, perform live as part of Power 98.3's NBA All-Star week. Night hosted by Jx3. For age 21 and older only. VIP tickets include immediate entry. Tables for six or more are available for $200. Tickets must be picked up by 6 p.m. on the day of event.

Feb. 12:
All-Star Jazz Jam

The Woman's Funding Network hosts a fundraiser during All-Star Weekend in conjunction with Behind the Bench. The Jazz Jam features saxman Marion Meadows. Invited guests include NBA greats Mark West, George Gervin, Eddie Johnson and Charles Barkley. Cash bar, hors d'oeuvres and raffles are a part of the night's fun. Part of the proceeds benefit the Arizona Foundation for Women, which focuses on women's issues. Another part helps Southwest Poverty Initiative, whose goal is to eradicate poverty in the greater Phoenix and Tucson border areas.

Kenny Smith All-Star Bash Drive

Kenny Smith kicks off NBA All-Star Weekend with members of the Phoenix Suns and Feed the Children for a community event to help provide nearly 400 low-income families with food and personal care items.

Three days of basketball action packed tight with events all leading up to the namesake matchup of the East and the West during the NBA All-Star Game. See the Rookie Challenge and Celebrity All-Star Game Feb. 13. Then catch a variety of events from the Slam Dunk Contest to the D-League All-Star Game held Valentine's Day. End the weekend with the grand finale NBA All-Star Game and Five-time Grammy Award-winning singer/ songwriter John Legend as he headlines the Halftime Show on Feb. 15. Go online for event times.

Phoenix Suns All-Star forward Amaré Stoudemire hands out an assist to the Ronald McDonald House along with celebrity friends. Proceeds benefit the Ronald McDonald House and the Each 1, Teach 1 Foundation.

Feb. 13:
All-Star Playboy Magazine Party

Join Playboy Playmates Jennifer Pershing and Sara Jean Underwood celebrate All-Star weekend and the release of Playboy's March magazine issue. Local D.J Super Snake and Grammy Award winner Chamillionaire host the event. The event features a Beach Bunny fashion show by Runway Magazine.

Feb. 13:
T-Mobile Rookie Challenge and Youth Jam

See nine rookies battle against the sophomores. Game is played in non-traditional format with two 20-minute halves. Part of NBA All-Star Weekend. Players include Brook Lopez and Derrick Rose for the rookies and Kevin Durant and Luis Scola for the sophomores.

Feb. 13:
Tha Big One All-Star Party

$100 for VIP; $40 for general admission
NBA All-Stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade host the suit-and-dress-only pre-All-Star party. Activities include a high-end fashion show and an exclusive NBA All-Star Rookie Game bar.

Feb. 14:
Love and Basketball NBA All-Star Party

The party is hosted by Chris Rosh and a diverse mix of NBA and NFL will be in the building celebrating the All-Star weekend. Additional activities include the All-Star Fashion Show and All-Star Dunk Contest, all while enjoying hors d’oeuvres, appetizers and an All-Star Game Bar.

Feb. 14:
Ludacris

Three-time Grammy Award-winning rapper Ludacris has seemingly had hit after hit. Ludacris' hits include What Them Girls Like and old classics like Stand Up, as well as the pro-Obama song Politics as Usual. See him live as part of KKFR-FM (98.3)'s NBA All-Star week. Hosted by Jx3. For age 21 and older. VIP tickets include immediate entry. Tables for four are available for $500. Tickets must be picked up by 6 p.m. on the day of event.

Feb. 14:
All-Star Charity Event

The charity event features two runway shows, vehicle showcases, raffles, a silent auction and a jazz band. Also features a special menu. Proceeds benefit muscular dystrophy and the Marine Corps Charities.

All Star Weekend is Hosted by Kenny "The Jet" Smith. Music from DJ Biz Markie, Soulja Boy, Lil' Mama, Brutha, Kayla Brianna and DBlack. Carnival rides and basketball clinic keep the kids busy and happy. Appearances by Common, Al Harrington of the New York Knicks, basketball legend Kenny Smith and Golden State Warrior Stephen Jackson.

Feb. 14:
All-Star Valentine's Hair and Fashion Event

Enjoy food, bottle service, live music and door prizes at this hair and fashion event to help support HIV/AIDS research and children in need.

Feb. 14:
Snoop Dogg All-Star Weekend Bash

$150 for VIP;$75 for general admission
Snoop Dogg will host a star studded party, featuring a 'Sensual Seduction' lingerie fashion show. The event also celebrates Nik Richie's 30th Birthday. Gift bags will be given to the first 100 VIPs. Special K from 104.7 Kiss FM and DJ Triple XL help host the party.

Feb. 15:
Jim Jones

Responsible for one of the most popular songs of 2006, We Fly High, and trademarking the term "ballin'," Jim Jones has continued not only producing but making hits such as Pop Champagne, which is currently playing on hip-hop stations. Don't want the All-Star Weekend to end? Come for one last hurrah at All-Star Experience finale extravaganza. Music is provided by special celebrity DJs D-Nice and Mick Boogie.
